Bandai Namco Korea has announced a new Premium Bandai release for fans of Metal Armor Dragonar: the HG Dragonar-1 Lifter-1 Equipment Type [Special Coating].
Preorders are scheduled to open through the Bandai Namco Korea Mall on Thursday, July 16, with the model kit priced at 96,000 won.

A Premium Finish for Dragonar-1
This release gives the Dragonar-1 a noticeably more premium appearance through its special coated finish. According to Bandai Namco Korea’s announcement, the coating is designed to make the mobile armor look as though it has been covered in a brilliant pure-white glow.
The kit includes the Lifter-1 equipment, giving Dragonar-1 its recognizable upgraded configuration. The large flight unit, shield and weaponry help create a much more dramatic silhouette than the standard version, especially when displayed in an aerial pose.
The special coating is the main attraction. Rather than the more traditional molded-plastic appearance of a regular High Grade release, the exterior armor has a brighter and more reflective finish. This should make the red, blue and white color scheme stand out strongly on display.
A Premium Bandai Price
That premium treatment also comes with a premium price. At 96,000 won, this version is considerably more expensive than a typical High Grade model kit.
Collectors will therefore need to decide whether the special finish is worth the additional cost. For longtime Metal Armor Dragonar fans or collectors who prefer display-focused releases, the coated armor may be the main reason to pick up this version.
Limited Preorder Availability
Bandai Namco Korea has warned that the exact preorder opening time may change without prior notice. Quantities will also be limited, meaning the kit could sell out before the official preorder period ends.
Collectors interested in securing one should keep an eye on the Bandai Namco Korea Mall when reservations begin on July 16.
